Rick Scott is Restarting the Voter Purges in Florida

With just 41 days before Election Day and Romney running around the country with his pants down, the GOP has got to keep suppressing votes if Romney stands a chance at winning this thing. As such, Florida is revving up its voter suppression engine, and they are targeting Latinos with a new list of 198 voters that Rick "Batboy" Scott wants to purge. Sadly for ol' Batboy, the list is inaccurate -- just as the last list was. You see, back in June, when he tried to remove 182,000 names for the voter rolls, a judge told Batboy to quit it. Batboy, in response, flipped the judge the bird and proceeded with purge. In response to that, 30 county elections officials flipped Batboy the bird and refused to execute the purge. It was the most exciting stand off in Florida since Esther refused to give up her seat to Ethel at the Shady Pines Checkers Challenge. Now Batboy has a much shorter list, and it’s still not accurate. But Batboy is going to purge some voters dadgummit, even if it’s just one voter. Voter protection groups are headed to court on Monday to put Batboy in his place.
