The Pig Trend in Pop Culture #13 - in books! http://amzn.to/U277bH
My mother's favorite childhood pet was the lovely Lily Sue. Lily Sue had a sense of humor, loved acorns, was prone to grunting, enjoyed playing in the mud on a steamy summer's day (both she & mom were tomboys), adorned my mom of course, following her everywhere ... and weighed, if memory serves, in excess of two or three hundred pounds.
Lily Sue was a pig.
People who have spent time around pigs on a family farm all tend to love them. And for good reason: they're smart, playful, gregarious & enjoy human companionship. "Whole Hog: Exploring the Extraordinary Potential of Pigs" is filled with everything any Discovery Channel fiend might wanna know about their origins and evolution, rich social lives, combat strategies, popularity in art & literature & their special relationship with truffles.
