According to the Feng Shui Powers that Be, the monkey is associated with being quick-witted, observant & "good entrepreneur skill". Also loyalty and, apparently, good parenting skills?! This particular brass sculpture appears to have crammed in as many good luck symbols as one can fit on a monkey perched upon a peach (symbolizing longevity & possibly immortality), surrounded by bats (joy & good fortune) and gold coins (duh). Said simian is also clutching a scepter of power, a Ru Yi, said to be one of the most potent & influential of all Feng Shui symbols. Which is all good 'n well. I just thought it was kinda kitschy cute. Not sure how you say that in Feng Shui.
