Report: William Moore arrested on battery charge

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons safety William Moore, who recently re-signed with the team after a playing in his first Pro Bowl, was arrested and charged with simple battery on Thursday, according to a Fox report citing Fulton County Jail records.
Moore was booked into Fulton County Jail, according to jail records.
No details were immediately available about the arrest.
The Falcons reached a five-year, $30 million deal with safety William Moore on March 9.
“It’s a relief,” said Moore, who had $14 million of the deal guaranteed. “That was my ultimate goal, to continue to be here in Atlanta and try to get the Super Bowl. I’m very pleased with the negotiations.”
Moore, who made the Pro Bowl last season as an alternate, was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
Moore, who turns 28 in May, was drafted in the second round (55th overall) of the 2009 draft.
Moore missed most of his rookie season with knee and hamstring injuries.
Moore broke into the lineup in 2010, starting 15 of 16 games. He had 108 tackles and five interceptions.
