As the Cubs try to market their veteran starters, they're looking to give scouts a heavy dose of Ryan Dempster while letting Matt Garza catch his breath and hopefully come out breathing fire. Dempster, who has been sidelined with a strained lat, will start two games in a row -- on Sunday and then Friday, in the first game back from the All-Star break. Garza, who lasted only four innings Thursday in Atlanta, isn't scheduled to start again until the third game after the break, next Sunday. He would only have four starts before the July 31 trade deadline no matter when he made his first one back, and the Cubs must believe he needs the extra time. The market for Dempster and Garza will depend largely on how well they pitch when they return.
