Having a strong winter at the plate, Cubs prospect Junior Lake has shifted from shortstop to left field
recently for first-place Estrellas. He has played the last three games in the outfield after moving between shortstop and DH over the last month. Lake hit cleanup today, going 1 for 3, with Indians minor-leaguer Juan Diaz batting eighth as the shortstop. The Cubs could be taking a look at Lake in the outfield in anticipation of a possible Alfonso Soriano trade or showcasing him to another team as part of a trade, or the shift to the outfield could just have fit the needs of Estrellas manager Dave Jauss. It will be interesting to see how he's used over the next week.
