The Rays aren't the only ALE contender that could use Alfonso Soriano. Assuming Soriano will waive his 10/5 rights to go there, the Orioles should seriously consider adding him. They've tried 11 different left fielders, who collectively are 12th in the AL with a .645 OPS, and have only a .709 OPS from the DH spot, which ranks 11th. The Orioles signal their seriousness about the stretch run by promoting 20-year-old shortstop Manny Machado, and GM Dan Duquette says he's looking every day for players who can help. Soriano seems a good fit for Camden Yards. He's expected to clear waivers and be once again in play for a possible trade soon.
