File these two names away: Michael Lorenzen and Nick Ciuffo. If they're selected by the White Sox and Cubs
in next year's draft we'll have to hold a party somewhere in Chicago in honor of MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo. The White Sox have the 18th overall pick in the draft, and Mayo lists Lorenzen, a center fielder-closer from Cal State Fullerton, as the 18th best prospect in his early draft list, which was posted on MLB.com today. Mayo cites Lorenzen having a "Ryan Braun body type'' but says he hasn't yet figured out how to use it as a hitter. His stock could rise with a big junior season. The Cubs' second overall pick will be 41st, and that's where Mayo lists Ciuffo, a high school catcher from South Carolina. He's a left-handed hitter and fills out a uniform well (6-1, 200).
