Robin Ventura believes the size of Comerica Park gets in the heads of White Sox hitters. He specifically
said that Gordon Beckham was "trying to do a little too much'' in Detroit, and implied that others try to swing harder because it's 345 feet down the left-field line and 420 to center field. Said Ventura when asked about the Tigers winning 7 of 8 against the White Sox this year at Comerica: "The big thing is the size issue. It's different than our park. In this series we've hit some balls that would have gone out of our park. The ones they've hit would have been out (of any park). It's just a different size park.''
