Tough situation in Phoenix for Elston Turner, who the Suns didn't allow out of his contract to join Rick Adelman

Having been Adelman's righthand man for years at several previous stops, I've long felt Turner could be another Thibodeau -- long-time assistant coach with the IQ to run a team but who never got a crack at a head job because he's all about the work and not the trimmings that can charm an owner. No telling if Turner or the Suns' other assistant with head-coaching aspirations, Dan Majerle, walk now or later, but based on the dynamics I've heard about in Phoenix, it's hard to imagine them staying beyond their contractual obligations.
