From the NBA media comedy/reporter's workshop tour, an anecdote worth sharing about Lamar Odom & @kbergcbs...

At Clippers training camp last week, the reflective forward was talking about his roller coaster of a life and how happy he is to be back in LA again - albeit on the other side of the tracks. At the end of his 10-minute session with reporters, someone mentioned that he's been through a lot these past few tumultuous years. We'll pick it up there... Odom: "Jesus went through a lot. This is easy for me, you know what I'm saying? Basketball?" To which Berger deadpanned, "But he didn't have your handle..." Insert reporters' laughter here... Odom, smiling: "He had his hands around the world. But we all go through a lot." Word to the wise for young and aspiring reporters: don't be afraid to lighten the mood in an interview. Makes the job easier and the material, in most cases, more colorful.
