Maybe it's my fault for not being more clear, but my post on Kevin Garnett's future in the eyes of two GMs is being
interpreted as them believing KG won't play beyond this season and give up the last two years of his contract. To be perfectly clear, one GM told me he couldn't see KG finishing his contract and when I ran that by a second GM he agreed. That doesn't mean they expect KG to retire this summer -- he could, obviously, but he also could play another season and then call it a career. I wrote then, and still believe, that KG will find a way to grind out two more seasons, even if it's not pretty. The point of the post was that the market does not appear to be all that strong for KG because there's a line of thought apparently among other teams that his physical skills are falling off at the rate he'll either step away early or not be worth the eight figures he's due for both of the next two seasons. There are some reports that he has a no-trade clause as well; I haven't confirmed that but I can see KG retiring before he changes teams again if it became clear to him Boston was ready to move on.
