As I’ve reported before, Jerry Sloan reiterated today he's willing to return as an NBA coach if “right situation.’’
Sloan, 71, hasn’t coached since resigning from Utah in February 2011. Last year, he turned down the Portland job and also interviewed for the Charlotte job before pulling out of the running.
“Yeah, probably, if I thought it would be the right situation,’’ Sloan, a Hall of Famer, told FOX Sports Florida on Thursday about still being interested in coaching.
Sloan said he hasn’t heard anything from Milwaukee, Charlotte, Philadelphia or Detroit, teams that officially have jobs open.
“I’ve not aware of any (interest from those teams),’’ Sloan said. “I haven’t said hello to anybody.’’
Sloan doesn’t have an agent. But he said he’s willing to listen if any teams call.
“I answer the phone,’’ Sloan said. “I haven’t quit answering the phone… If something comes along, it does. If something doesn’t, it doesn’t. That’s one way to look at it.’’
