Stoudemire played 16:41 in his season debut. We asked Amar’e and Mike Woodson if his minutes would increase
tomorrow against the Spurs.
They both said it would be about the same.
“I don’t think it will be much different than Game 1,” Stoudemire said. “We’re still taking precautionary measures. The longevity is to be there for the second half of the season and going into the postseason.”
Stoudemire said he felt good and ready to play today, which was a good sign after being off all that time following knee surgery.
“We’ll eventually get his minutes moved up,” Woodson said. “The early stages, we’re on a minutes’ restriction where he can’t play a lot of minutes right now. We’ll give him the minutes that he gets and he’s got to make it the most productive minutes for us to win.”
