Ex-Mayor Richard Daley wants Chicago to get a second NFL team. What does Lovie Smith think about the idea?

“Well, I'm a big sports fan and all that but I kind of love the one team we have here,” Smith said Wednesday after practice. “I can't really talk about it an awful lot. I know our fans love the Chicago Bears so it would be hard for me to even imagine another team being here.” Daley, in an interview with Comcast Sportsnet, suggested a second team was a good idea. “I really believe we could get a second football team. I’ve always believed — the Chicago Cardinals, Bears — why is it that New York has two? Florida has three, San Francisco has two. Now you think of that, we could easily take — Chicago loves sports and we could get a second team in here. You could build a new stadium, you could have huge international soccer teams come in, you could do the Final Four, you could do anything you wanted with a brand new stadium.”
