#Bears QB Jay Cutler appearing on his radio show this afternoon says he should not have bumped J’Marcus Webb.
Cutler’s show on WMVP-AM 1000 is running until 1 p.m. Hosts Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman did a nice job of keeping the topic on what happened in Green Bay last Thursday. “Offensively, it starts with me, so I’ve got to play better,” Cutler said. “And then it trickles down. It started early on in that game and it never really got better.” Here is how the Q&A proceeded:
Q: Why did the incident with J’Marcus Webb occur?
JC: I don’t know. I can’t put a definite reason why it happened. It happened. It’s an emotional game. I put a lot into playing quarterback and I take it seriously. It’s just one of the things that happened during a game and since then we’ve talked about it and it’s really behind us.
Q: Who did you talk about it with? The team? J’Marcus?
JC: Yeah, I have talked about it with the powers that be down there. I’ve talked about it with the offensive line each of them individually. It is what it is. I think it’s been blown up probably a little bit bigger than all of us expected but at the same time that is what you have to expect out of the media.
Q: Did you make a mistake by bumping Webb?
JC: I probably shouldn’t have bumped him. You know, I’ll go with that. As far as me yelling at him and trying to get him going in the game, I don’t regret that. Shouldn’t have bumped him. I’ll stick to that.
