See if you can pick out the passing statistics for Jay Cutler and Cam Newton here. This might surprise you.
Passer A has completed 101 of 173 passes for 1,387 yards, 5 TD’s, 6 INT’s, 8.02 yards per attempt, 79.3 rating.
Passer B has completed 106 of 187 passes for 1,359 yards, 8 TD’s, 7 INT’s, 7.27 yards per attempt, 78.3 rating.
Passer A is Panthers QB Cam Newton. Passer B is Bears QB Jay Cutler.
The difference? Cutler has a much better running game to complement him and a superior defense on his side. Cutler also has a better cast of targets to work with. The pure stats, at least at this point, are nearly identical though.
