Phil Rogers's post on Chicago Cubs | Latest updates on Sulia
Daisuke Matsuzaka seems headed back to the disabled list, and that could mean that Matt Garza's July 4 All-Star start in Atlanta could be his last for the Cubs. There's about to be a run on teams trading for starting pitching, and while Cole Hamels and Zack Greinke are the biggest guys available there is plenty of interest in Garza, who has pitched well lately. He had a run of five consecutive quality starts ended his last time out but still beat the Astros, working 5 1-3 innings. Teams that are known to have interest in Garza: the Braves, the Orioles, the Red Sox, the Yankees, the Royals (yes, the Royals) and, way back from last winter, the Tigers. So, yes, this probably guarantees that he's traded to the Reds or the Cardinals.
