Phil Rogers's post on Chicago White Sox | Latest updates on Sulia
The White Sox can't count on any heroics from Dayan Viciedo for awhile. He's gone on the DL today and will be
replaced by Blake Tekotte, who was the first player added after Rick Hahn replaced Ken Williams as GM. Tekotte has had his own injury issues this season, opening the year on Charlotte's DL with a strained left hamstring. He wasn't activated until yesterday and now is on his way to U.S. Cellular Field for today's game. Jordan Danks seems more likely to get playing time than Tekotte. Both are left-handed hitters. Viciedo, who has had a pair of game-winning hits for the White Sox, is out with a strained left oblique. That can be a bad injury for a right-handed hitter but the Sox hope they caught it early and can minimize his time on the sidelines. He was 7-for-14 with three doubles in his last four games, so the injury was poorly timed.
