Nelson's games played streak looks to be in jeopardy
Bengals safety Reggie Nelson did not practice for a third straight day due to a hamstring injury that he suffered during the fourth quarter of last week’s loss to Denver and is listed as doubtful. Dating back to his days with the Jaguars, Nelson has played in 67 straight games including the playoffs. The only games he has missed were in 2008 in Jacksonville when he did not play in three games due to a knee injury.
With Nelson all but out, Nate Clements and Chris Crocker are likely to be the starting safeties with Leon Hall and Terence Newman at corner.
“We will be all right,” head coach Marvin Lewis said. “Crocker has helped stabilize things with his experience. He’s been through the defensive system for a number of years and has been able to help other guys.”
