Zeller's performance tonight gave Byron Scott something to think about in terms of his starting lineup
He had 13 points and 7 rebounds, outplaying Pacers All-Star Roy Hibbert (4 points, 5 rebounds).
Part of the equation is where the Cavs want Anderson Varejao, since his starting spot is secure. If Zeller starts, Varejao shifts to power forward. With Tristan Thompson, Varejao is the center.
I asked Byron Scott at the beginning of training camp if he thought Zeller could push for a starting job by the start of the regular season. He said no. I asked him tonight if he has since changed his mind.
"Not sure," he said. "If you look at Game 1 to Game 7, he's come a long way in a short period of time."
