The biggest surprise of the Bengals final cuts was that the team kept seven receivers and six linebackers, which meant that either Vontaze Burfict, Vincent Rey or Roddrick Muckelroy was going to be the odd man out. It ended up being Muckelroy.
Said Lewis on why the team went with Burfict over Muckelroy: "He’s been the guy who has played the best. He’s done the things he needed to do on special teams and defense."
Muckelroy is not eligible to be re-signed to the practice squad. They could bring him back after placing center Kyle Cook on IR with the designated to return status but the team is pretty light at guard right now.
Or one of those seven receivers is about to be traded. In other words, we'll see.
