You figure when Warriors' front office talks internally about Rudy Gay they have to ask themselves whether or not
Harrison Barnes, who would almost assuredly have to be included in the deal, has an upside as high as where Gay is now. Will Barnes be better five years from now than Gay is now? If Warriors don't think Barnes will ever get to that level, why wouldn't they consider it -- forgetting money, for a moment? And if the Warriors believe Barnes can be better than Gay, a borderline all-star-type player, than why would they really want to trade for him?
