Marcus Thompson's post on Golden State Warriors | Latest updates on Sulia
I've been an advocate for Warriors acquiring Josh Smith. As it turns out, several in franchise agree with me...
Several team sources told me Josh Smith, they believe, would life the Warriors to another level. He would be a boon to their uptempo game, giving them the athlete/finisher they need.
And though Smith has a reputation for being a wrench, several said they feel like the Warriors can handle that. Mark Jackson is a coach who, they believe, can bring the best out of Smith. And the Warriors have a few veterans, namely Jarrett Jack and Andrew Bogut, who have the credibility and courage to deal with Smith.
The chances of acquiring Smith are incredibly slim. He is a free agent to be who wants a max contract. The Warriors aren't giving him a max contract, and they aren't interested in giving up Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes for a player who may bolt at season's end. So a deal is improbable at best.
But if GM Bob Myers did manage to swing something, there would be some key happy campers in the organization.
