#Colts OC Pep Hamilton on WR Darrius Heyward-Bey and TE Coby Fleener:
How much potential are you seeing in Darrius
Heyward-Bey and his progress?
“He’s fast. He has the potential to be an explosive playmaker and he’s a pretty good run-after-catch guy. So we’re excited about DHB.”
Talk about Heyward-Bey’s camp so far. Are you pleased with what you’ve seen the first five days?
“Well, we would like for his hands to be a little more consistent, but he’s working at it. He’s putting the time in before and after practice. But the fact that he’s able to get behind the defense is going to create some paranoia and give us opportunities to get the one-on-one matchups outside and hit the big plays.”
Talk about Coby Fleener and the camp he’s having.
“Probably having the most productive camp, including his time at Stanford, that I’ve seen. In the time that I’ve been around Coby, he’s a lot more explosive and confident right now and he’s making plays that big-time NFL players tend to make.”
Coach Pagano mentioned that Fleener can be a mismatch. Do you see him being that way too?
“Absolutely. 6-6, 250 pounds and he runs as fast as wide receivers so it’s probably a good chance that he’ll have an opportunity to run past a few safeties.”
