Matt Kemp back in CF for #Dodgers today. Here's what Mattingly had to say yesterday about Kemp's recovery from
shoulder surgery in October.
"Matt just needs time. That's what we're going to keep giving him. We're going to keep giving him at-bats.
"Matt's coming off a pretty big surgery. He's behind as far as the hitting other guys have been able to do. He's behind as far as getting his rhythm and timing.
"For me, all Matt needs is at-bats."
Kemp acknowledged last fall that the surgery on his left shoulder was more involved than he anticipated going in. A torn labrum and rotator cuff damage was repaired in October.
So far this spring, he is hitless in 15 at-bats (including 3 against Team Mexico that don't count in Cactus League stats and 1 in one of Friday's rainouts).
