Dave McMenamin's post on LA Lakers | Latest updates on Sulia
Metta World Peace finally admitted he was off on his 70-win prediction with 81 of 82 games in the book ...
"I didn't think we'd be in this situation," World Peace said after the Lakers' final practice of the regular season Tuesday. "I was wrong. I thought we was going to have a really great record. I was wrong.
"I was wrong. I thought it was going to be amazing ... It still is amazing, actually."
To win 70 games, L.A. would have needed to sustain an .854 winning clip. At 44-37, they've only had a .543 winning percentage for the season.
However, they are 27-12 (.692) since late January.
So, Metta wasn't totally wrong. This Lakers season, and the fact that they can secure the No. 7 seed with a win in Game No. 82, has been kind of amazing in a way.
