Devin Ebanks got the start partially because Jordan Hill is out (back spasms) but also because
he played his best game of the year against the Knicks on Thursday night http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakersnow/la-sp-ln-devin-ebanks-first-look-d-antoni-knicks-20121214,0,1719619.story
Ebank has an opportunity in this moment to really establish himself. So far throughout his career he's had many of those opportunities but hasn't really ever stepped into it.
His best game overall game was against Durant, defending him well - but where was that in the playoffs?
Perhaps this is the moment Ebanks needs to break through - otherwise I'm not sure he's a Laker past this season - or even through the year - although he can block any trade.
