The Lakers released a statement on Eddie Jordan leaving the team for Rutgers ...
“On behalf of the entire Lakers organization, I’d like to congratulate Eddie on his new position as Head Coach at his alma mater, Rutgers University," said general manager Mitch Kupchak. "A member of our 1982 NBA Championship team, Eddie has been a part of the Lakers family going back more than 30 years. We thank him for his contributions both as a player and coach to our club, and wish him the best of luck with the Scarlet Knights.”
All I can think about Eddie's tenure with the team is when I asked Mike Brown before the first preseason game what the Lakers' hybrid Princeton offense should be called.
"If at the end of the year we’re in the top five offensively, we’ll call it ‘Brown’s offense,’" he said. "If we’re in the bottom five, we’ll call it, ‘Jordan’s offense.’"
Turns out, neither Brown nor Jordan made it to the end of the year with the Lakers.
