Dave McMenamin's post on LA Lakers | Latest updates on Sulia
What are the Lakers' New Year's resolutions? Thoughts from Kobe, Pau and, of course, Metta ...
Kobe Bryant's resolution: "It’s always health. It’s always to stay healthy, my family stay healthy and all of our guys here to stay healthy. When you have your health, really, what is there to complain about?"
Kobe looking back on 2012: "It just seems like one big blur. It just seems like so many things have happened. Good, bad and indifferent. It’s just been a crazy, crazy year."
Kobe on if the Lakers can start fresh in 2013: "It’s for us to kind of start anew and cleanse ourselves of the start of this first half of the season and begin again and see if we can’t kick off January better than we did in October."
Pau Gasol's resolution: "Nothing specific. Just continue to do what I’ve been doing and focus on staying loyal to myself and to my values and keeping up the right things that I’m doing."
Pau looking back on 2012: "It’s been a fun 2012, that’s for sure. A lot going on, a lot that I learned, a lot that I experienced. A lot that I’ve gone through as a basketball player, as a person. Again, just a year that I’ve learned a lot of things about myself, about life and I’m sure 2013 will be more of it so I don’t expect anything less."
Pau on if the Lakers can start fresh in 2013: "We’ll see. I think we finished off the year on a pretty good note, but we want to continue to improve, continue to get stronger as a team and keep doing the things that we’ve been doing and stay healthy. That’s the main thing, that’s one of the things that we wish for is that all our guys stay healthy."
Metta World Peace's resolution: "I don’t really have one. I don’t know why. Just continue to do the same things. Have fun and enjoy it."
MWP looking back on 2012: "For me, it's been steady. I always just try to stay focused, for me. I don't really try to worry about what's going on around you. As you can see, you can't control what's going on around you. We had conversations last summer, last season. Every season different things is going on you can't control, so you really don't have time to focus on it."
MWP on if the Lakers can start fresh in 2013: "That's an excuse. I don't want to make too many excuses. We're not starting fresh. We are who we are right now. Playing better and I like what I see right now. Very encouraged by what I see right now."
