Was getting Osi Umenyiora's agent out of the way the key to his deal? Apparently, yes. From what I hear, the Giants directly approached Osi with their offer of a raise, but first asked (or suggested) that he split with Tony Agnone, who agreed to "fall on his sword" as one source put it. There's been a lot of bad blood between Agnone and the Giants, dating back to Michael Strahan. With Agnone out, Osi took the best offer he'd gotten. Notably, though, he says he's not looking for a new agent. #NYG
