'Slumping' Giants ready for bounce-back game (a.k.a. my game prediction) ...
There isn’t much to like about the way the Giants have played the last few weeks. They’ve lacked consistency, to be sure, and in some phases they’ve been poor. But there needs to be a little perspective. They have still won four of their last five games and were pretty close to beating a pretty good Steelers team, too. ... Now, if Eli Manning remains off his game, all bets are off. ... But I’m not overly concerned about him, nor am I worried about reports that his arm might be “tired”. We have all seen him go through slumps before – some longer and worse than this current one. We’ve also all seen him bounce back. I don’t know if this game will be the bounce-back one. What I do know is this Marvin Lewis defense has been pretty soft, so there are certainly opportunities for Manning to get back on track. ... (On defense) the Giants are obviously susceptible to big plays, which makes the Dalton-to-Green combo something to worry about. But they haven’t exactly been clicking and not much else is working well offensively in Cincinnati, giving the Bengals’ offense the look of a one-man show. ... It should also help that they’re on the road, where they tend to do their best work.
Final Score: Giants 23, Bengals 17
