Al Iannazzone's post on New York Knicks | Latest updates on Sulia
Rasheed Wallace was in uniform Wednesday and very into the game. He was unable to play, but that could and should
change today as Wallace, for the first time, is expected to go through a full Knicks’ practice, scrimmage and all.
Wallace is making his return after two years off for personal reasons. Since early October, he’s been working out on the side with Knicks’ strength and training coaches to get him in shape for the NBA season.
“On Friday it will be time to get him some action in terms of banging around a little bit and see where he goes from there,” Mike Woodson said. “We’ll evaluate him after Friday and see how he feels. Hopefully he’ll continue to climb and be where we need him to be.”
Barring something unforeseen, Wallace is expected to be in the lineup for the regular-season opener in less than a week against the Nets.
Wallace seemed to be in his old form when they played each other Wednesday at Nassau Coliseum.
From the bench, he was talking to officials – probably disagreeing with some calls - yelling things to Nets players and encouraging his Knicks’ teammates.
He should be on the court today and should be able to help the Knicks in the regular season and playoffs.
