Marc Berman's post on New York Knicks | Latest updates on Sulia
The more you speak to J.R. Smith, more you get impression his chances of being ready for season opener vs. Bucks
are slim. At yesterday's appearance in which Smith spoke with kids golfers at Chelsea Piers as part of his foundation, J.R. indicated strongly how conservative medical director Dr. Lisa Callahan and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Answorth Allen want to take this. Smith had his knee surgery in mid-July. He could be back in mid-October at the early end of the timetable. But J.R. thinks the doctors aren't eyeing the early spectrum. Big quote here. "Me personally, I want to play the season opener but I know Dr. Allen is not going to let me rush it,'' Smith told me. "He’s going to take it like – if I have a week, he’ll give me two weeks.'' If I'm a betting man, I say #Knicks go without him for first week or two of season.
