Ronnie Brewer got through his preseason debut feeling fine, but looking rusty. What Woodson said:
“He’s rusty, he hasn’t played," Woodson said. "We were able to get him 15 minutes, that was the goal going into the game. I thought his 15 minutes was positive.
“His stat line wasn’t bad for a guy that’s been sitting for a while.”
Brewer started at small forward and played 15:39. He didn't score (0-for-2) but had four rebounds (three offensive) and three assists.
The 6-7 wingman looked a little on the heavy side as he missed six weeks while recovering from knee surgery. The plan has been to utilize him as a starter and with JR Smith and Amar'e Stoudemire injured, he may be pressed into duty faster than expected.
