make silent reading more meaningful

You notice your child sitting on the couch one afternoon, quietly reading a book. How many people would just smile and turn away, proud and pleased that your child is reading (yay!)? How many people would grab a book, a blanket, and a spot next to your kiddo on the couch, ready to read a bit yourself? How many people would view this as an opportunity to make silent reading a wee bit more meaningful--to capitalize on the learning opportunities that exist right there, right then, in your very living room?
