Pretty safe to say the Pirates are at that stage where the lineup's got to start reflecting the urgency of the games at hand. Clint Hurdle's begun that to an extent, but Rod Barajas and Clint Barmes have got to start sitting more. Not benched entirely. Just more. Any statistical analysis will show offense is more valuable in a position player than defense. So, if you take a hit at short, in particular, by going with Josh Harrison and/or Jordy Mercer, the good outweighs the bad. Do it.
