Cowher not coming back to coach for maybe 4 or 5 years
Let’s set the record straight with Bill Cowher:
He said yesterday he thinks will coach again in the National Football League, and that is true.
But that is not going to be this year, and may not be for another four of five years, according to a source close to the former Steelers coach.
Cowher, 55, was contacted in the past couple weeks by several NFL teams who are looking for a head coach. One of those teams was likely the Cleveland Browns, who are owned by Jimmy Haslam, a former Steelers investor who knows Cowher.
But the conversations were mostly one-sided: It consisted of Cowher telling them he is not interested in coaching right now because he is comfortable with his professional and personal life
Cowher has moved from North Carolina and is living in New York, where he is an NFL studio analyst for CBS Sports. He is said to be in “a good place” in his life, according to the source, and has some “stability” since the death of his wife, Kaye, in July, 2010.
He is not looking to disrupt that now or anytime soon.
