Trainer Dave Groeschner on Tim Lincecum's offseason conditioning, including goal to add a little weight:
“He’s fluctuated. He gets real low. A year ago, he got too big, put a little too much weight on. So this is just a little happy medium. He doesn’t need to add a lot of weight. Five pounds would be nice, in that neighborhood. He’s a super strong kid. There’s no debating that. This guy’s strong. He’s wiry strong. We know, too, for guys to prolong their careers, you’ve got to take care of your body. You’ve got to work on things, and that’s what we want him to do. There are some things we’ll highlight with him, like we do with all our starters, to make sure he’s in good shape for spring training.”
Another objective is shoulder strengthening.
Is the pitcher on board?
Groeschner: "When I talked to him, he seemed pretty eager." #SFGiants
