John Shea's post on San Francisco Giants | Latest updates on Sulia
Here's what Brian Wilson said after the #sfgiants-#dodgers series opener:
Feelings about facing his old mates: "I already faced them a couple of weeks ago, so I got those out of the way."
On the boos: "It’s not the first time they booed with the Dodgers in town. It’s fine. Due diligence. It’s what fans do. It’s their right. I love it.”
And . . .
"As baseball players, we get booed a lot. That's what goes on. If you let yourself get swallowed by it and then go out there and let the nerves get to you and do bad and then wonder in your hotel room, 'Why did I pitch badly?' it’s because you let it affect you.”
On if it was the reaction he expected: “I wasn’t expecting anything. I never expect anything. You’re not going to get a rise out of me. It’s all good. I pitch the eighth inning and do my job. That’s what I did here."
He thought he could’ve been razzed some more, saying, “I was expecting better here."
Regarding anyone in the Giants' front office who might've doubted him: "If anything I've shown exactly who I've been, nothing's going to tear me down; You need two people to believe in you, God and yourself. It doesn't really matter what anybody else thinks. Whether you think I'm not going to come back doesn't hinder what I'm about to do. I already told everybody what I'm about to do. It's not like it's a surprise, at least to me it's not. I'm exactly where I should be."
