An unexpected issue with Samsung's Galaxy S 4: Sharing the multimedia-enriched photos it can take.
The fancy photography modes on the Galaxy S 4 can make for some of its neatest demos--but they also pose a problem for people who want to share these things.
Take its Animated Photo option, which loops an animation of one moving subject while keeping the rest of the scene static. The resulting animated GIFs were cute (yes, there was a cat involved), but on Facebook they didn't play, on Flickr you have to navigate to the original-resolution file, and Twitter wouldn't accept these 10-megabyte-plus files.
(Nope, it wouldn't work here either, so I had to upload something else.)
Then there's the Sound & Shot feature, which embeds looping background audio in the photo. I love this effect--but I can't get that soundtrack to play at Facebook, Twitter or Flickr, or even in OS X.
