#Cardinals dip into Double-A rotation for latest addition to unsteady bullpen: 22-year-old righty Trevor Rosenthal. One of the team's top pitching prospects and leading power arms, Rosenthal was the ace for Low-A Quad Cities a year ago. He hit 98 in the playoffs, throws around 95, and has a slider that he can use effectively. In other words, he has the mix of a reliever and could continue to advance (eventually) as a starter. The move, which was first reported late last night by FoxSportsMidwest.com, will put Rosenthal in the bullpen tonight when the Cardinals open a series in Milwaukee. Righty Maikel Cleto was optioned to Class AAA to make room.
