James Fallows points out the central issue in our new glorious fact-check era.

This is the main pressure on fact-checkers and the media generally - to avoid being called unfair or biased by conservatives, they have to find *some* equivalent wrong, or else the entire mission has gone awry. What that mission is, I cannot say, since it's apparently not journalism.
