No break for former #Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez in court today
According to published reports, Aaron Hernandez lost any chance of possibly making bail now that he's been indicted by a Grand Jury for first-degree murder. This means that Hernandez will remain in jail until his trial.
Aaron Wilson noted earlier for Scout, the news that Hernandez has been indicted.
The trouble for Hernandez and his defense team is that the court feels the case is strong enough to indict him on murder charges without the possibility of bail. That hasn't dampened Hernandez's group from claiming the case against the former Patriots TE isn't enough to convict him of the charges.
The AP has more:
"The six-county grand jury indictment charges Hernandez with killing 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player from Boston who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. It also contains weapons counts, according to the Fall River division of Bristol County Superior Court."
"Hernandez, 23, pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in June, and he is being held without bail at a county jail. His lawyers say the case against him is circumstantial and they're confident he will be able to clear his name."
