One big reason why I have yet to board the smart-watch hype train: I don't want a brick on my wrist.
This week, the Apple rumor mill has been churning stories of it developing an iPhone-linked watch--instantly dubbed the "iWatch."
Those rumors follow shipping smart watches from smaller firms like Pebble (getpebble.com), Cookoo (cookoowatch.com) and I'm Watch (imsmart.com). Sadly, all of those things are far from matching the thinness of the unconnected watch collecting dust on my nightstand; some, like the WIMM One (wimm.com) above, are better described as "freakin' thick."
Now if any company could engineer a stylishly thin smart watch, it would be Apple. But that by itself doesn't make "iWatch" rumors true.
(WIMM Labs took its watch off the market last year after entering "an exclusive, confidential relationship for our technology." If WIMM-Apple speculation hasn't started yet, why not now?)
