Today's oddball OS X glitch: Mountain Lion serves up ceaseless notifications for a friend's birthday.
A good friend of mine will be a year older tomorrow. I know this because OS X has been reminding me all day--no matter how many times I click the "Close" or "Snooze" buttons in its Notifications alert, that dialog reappears a moment later.
I don't know that this has happened with other pals' special days. I do know that only changing Notifications to display an automatically hidden "banner," as opposed to an "alert" that I have to click to dismiss (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5362?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), stopped this reminder from recurring.
I also know that other people have seen this issue, to judge from replies to a tweet about it (http://twitter.com/robpegoraro/status/293773489322725376). Do any of you have any theories about what's amiss?
