I really hate the latest interface of the Apple TV. Happily, Apple has some ways for you to customize it.

Along with the Apple TV 5.1 software update, Apple has a support page that not only shows you how to adjust the layout and display of the icons on the Apple TV main menu but will also show you how to use Parental Controls to hide icons on the Apple TV's main menu.
